If you believe that content on PressHive.uk infringes your copyright, you have a clear, straightforward way to ask us to remove it. We take intellectual property seriously. This policy explains your rights, what you need to include in a notice, and how we respond – all in plain language.
We know copyright can feel technical, but our goal is to make the process as simple and fair as possible. Whether you are a creator, a rights holder, or someone acting on behalf of a copyright owner, this page is designed for you. All takedown requests are handled by our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Oliver Reeves, who reviews every claim carefully before taking action. You can reach him directly at copyright@presshive.uk or by post to our registered office (see below). We aim to acknowledge receipt within two business days and to process valid notices within five business days.
How does the takedown process work?
Once we receive a complete copyright notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the material in question. We then notify the user who posted the content (if identifiable) and provide them with a copy of your notice. If the affected user believes the removal was a mistake or misidentification, they may send us a counter-notification explaining why. We will not reinstate material until we have reviewed any counter-notice and, where appropriate, forwarded it to you for potential legal action.
To ensure everything is above board, we keep records of all takedown requests and counter-notices. These records are shared with our legal team at Sliema Media Limited (Malta Business Registry: C 84217), which runs PressHive from its registered office at Level 3, Tower Business Centre, Tower Street, Swatar, Birkirkara BKR 4013, Malta. You can learn more about our broader editorial standards and how we handle other types of complaints in our Editorial Policy and Complaints Procedure. For non-copyright issues, please use complaints@presshive.uk.
What information should your notice include?
To help us process your request quickly and accurately, please include the following details in your copyright notice. An incomplete notice may delay our response, so we encourage you to be as specific as you can.
- Your full name and contact information (email, postal address, phone number).
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed – for example, the title, publication date, and registration number if applicable.
- The exact URL(s) on PressHive.uk where the allegedly infringing material appears. If the content is not directly accessible via a URL, please describe its location in enough detail for us to find it.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A declaration, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on their behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send your completed notice to copyright@presshive.uk. If you prefer postal mail, address it to Oliver Reeves, Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, PressHive, Level 3, Tower Business Centre, Tower Street, Swatar, Birkirkara BKR 4013, Malta. We recommend using email for fastest processing. You can also find our full contact details on the Contact page.
